Tattoo: Day Two

I am utterly exhausted. My head feels like it was rolling and rocking and swinging like mad yesterday, and now it hurts just to move it. My whole back is sore, as are my arms and legs. Which is all rather confusing, because I just got my back tattooed - not my ENTIRE body. But I guess I may have traumatized myself more than I thought. I have been unsuccessfully trying to wake up - I've been up and about, but every time I sit down for a second, I fall asleep. So I'm seriously contemplating giving up and just sleeping for the rest of the day. I figure my body probably needs it anyway. Well, just updating you all - toodles for now!

I hope you're feeling better by now. You're so sore from being all clenched up during the UNBEARABLE PAIN of the tattoo (I know you said it was bearable, but I refuse to believe it).

Ha ha ha... well, it wasn't unbearable - otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here with a tattoo. I'm a total wuss with pain, so if it hurt that badly, I would have left after the first line. But yeah - my soreness is all gone. My tattoo feels a little tender, obviously, but no muscles killing me anymore. So yay! Now I've got the tattoo bug, and what I'd love to get next is a nice big backpiece. Not that I really have a big back at all - I'm nearly a midget, so this tattoo took up more than half my spine area. :) My parents think I'm crazy, but hey, they don't have to sit through it, so shush.

Hang in there kiddo. It gets better! Oh.. and my tatt artist had me use A&D ointment... it's for diaper rash, if you can believe it. And it was FABULOUS!! Helped protect against infection AND kept my skin soft, smooth and silky.

Oh..interesting note about the lower back tatt... keep it moisturized really well. You can actually feel the skin start to "pull" when you bend over and stuff, if your skin isn't well hydrated. :)

pinkpiddypaws,
I totally know what you mean about the skin pulling thing. When I wake up in the morning, my tattoo area feels so dry I can feel the skin stretching - so I moisturize. Although my artist says not to overmoisturize because that might damage the tat. How long did it take you to heal fully (which I mean, until the scabs fell off)?

mine never really scabbed over....not sure why...but I was healed..totally to the point of no more soreness.. within 2 weeks.
